Who we are: Happy Hardens Ministries, LLC (“PrayerRipple”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
We respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices when using PrayerRipple’s mobile app and web admin portal.
1) Information We Collect
- Account information you provide: name, email, password, display name, and optional profile image.
- Phone number (optional): Used solely to send SMS verification codes (OTP) for login and account security. These messages are only sent at your request and are never used for marketing. Message and data rates may apply.
- Content you create: prayer requests, praise reports, comments, community participation, uploads, and any images you choose to attach.
- Images and media you upload: If you choose to attach a photo to a prayer or community post, we process the image and store it in your account. We do not access or scan your photo library. You explicitly select each photo you upload.
- Camera access: Requested only when you choose to take a new photo inside the app. We do not access the camera in the background or without your permission.
- Location (optional):
If you grant permission, we collect your approximate location to:
- show prayer activity near you (if enabled),
- apply timezone-based features,
- improve the relevance of certain features.
- Push notification tokens: When you enable push notifications, we store your device’s Expo push token. This is used only to send notifications you have opted into.
- Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, and app version for security, fraud prevention, and performance improvements.
- Payments (web admin only): Payment processing is handled by Square. We do not store full credit card numbers.
We do not sell user data or share data for advertising.
2) How We Use Information
- Provide and improve app features (prayer posts, communities, sharing).
- Securely authenticate users and manage community memberships.
- Send SMS verification codes when you sign up, log in, or update your contact information. These are sent only upon your request and are never used for marketing.
- Send push notifications that you explicitly opt into.
- Process images you attach to your prayers or community posts.
- Use optional location data for nearby prayer activity (if enabled) and timezone features.
- Prevent abuse, detect fraud, and ensure overall service security.
- Comply with legal obligations and maintain system integrity.
3) Third-Party Processors
We use trusted service providers to operate our platform:
- Expo Push Service — delivers push notifications.
- Square — processes payments in the web admin portal.
- Email/SMS providers — for sending verification emails and texts.
- Hosting and infrastructure — secure servers and content delivery.
We do not allow third parties to use your data for advertising or marketing.
4) Permissions and How We Use Them
The PrayerRipple mobile app may request the following permissions:
- Camera: To take photos you choose to attach to prayers. We do not access the camera unless you tap the “take photo” button.
- Photo Library / Media: To allow you to select an existing image to include in a prayer or community post. We only access the specific file you choose.
- Location (Approximate): Used for optional features like nearby prayer activity. Never used for marketing or tracking.
- Notifications: Required only if you opt into receiving notifications such as prayer shares, community updates, or reminders.
Permissions are never used for advertising or sold to third parties.
5) Cookies & Web Technologies
- Web admin portal: Uses essential cookies and secure session storage for login and billing.
- Mobile app: Does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking SDKs.
6) Data Location
Your data is stored and processed in the United States and may be processed by service providers in other locations consistent with this policy.
7) Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data while your account remains active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for:
- legal obligations,
- fraud prevention,
- security logs and backups (kept briefly and then purged).
8) Your Choices & Rights
- Control push notification preferences in your device settings.
- Choose visibility levels for your prayers.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your data.
- EU/UK users may exercise GDPR rights; California users may exercise CCPA/CPRA rights.
9) Children’s Privacy
PrayerRipple is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10) Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encrypted HTTPS, secure storage, and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
11) SMS Authentication
If you register or log in using a phone number, PrayerRipple sends SMS verification codes. These are used only for authentication and account changes. They are never used for marketing.
Because SMS codes are necessary for login access, you cannot opt out except by removing your phone number or deleting your account.
12) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as needed. Material changes will be communicated via the app or website.
